Usually when location defined by cellular network or wi-fi it may have accuracy around 1000m. It will quite hard for your friends to understand where you stay exactly inside of such huge circle. Better switch on GPS, wait a bit and take more precise data.

ReplyDeleteI am down in New Zealand and have a LG 540 phone. The declination (or variation) is being applied incorrectly to the true and magnetic bearings.
Our declination is 20E so that means that true north is 20deg more than magnetic north. Your app shows it the other way around.

Yes, but "20deg more" means "20deg more counterclockwise". Look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetic_declination
