Ulysse Speedometer Beta

Ulysse Speedometer - helps you drive on the "edge" of allowed speed. Application uses predefined or custom speed settings to inform you visually or with sound what car reach some speed or go over it. So we name this technology “Speed Edge”.

  1. Thanks... most promising speedometer so far. I have one suggestion...

Could speed alerts be set easier, whether alert is on or off? Maybe tapping speedometer and predefined (in settings) alerts would be shown. Tapping them turns alert on/off

    thanks

  2. Do you mean to switch off sound or total alert setting? For dynamic sound on/off we plan to present another approach little bit later. Is it what you asking for?

    1. I would love to see a mute button on the front. Occasionally, while driving, I need to mute everything on the phone.
Great app. Been using it in the car & on the bike. Very cool.

  3. Hi

I meant mostly the sound of which alert(s) is on. In my case I usually start from 40 km/h area, then move to 80 and then 100/120 limits. Then back to 60. It would be nice if you can change the warning sound from limit to another easily, where ever area you're moving.

After using the speedo for some time now, I'd also would like the limitations to be set more freely. Let's say, when I'm driving at 40 km/h are, meter goes nicely red at 40, but back to blue at 45. I'd like to set alert on from 43 to 50 (with red background).

    thanks

    Esa

  4. Really like the app! Only real complaint is the accuracy of the average speed read out (moving & overall) when speed is set to mph. My last trip said 120 maybe it is calculating in kph but that is still super fast in mph as an average. 1/4 mile calculation seems pretty accurate as does 0-60 but the 0-100 mph seems way off especially since I have a 7000 lb truck and rarely visit the 100 mph relm.

Hopefully this helps make the app even better than it is already.

A detailed description of all listed values would be nice under info.

  5. I have one question:

Sometimes I need to minimize Ulysse Speedometer in order to open another aplication. When a open again Ulysse Speedometer the "now counter" is reset to 0 kms. Are there any way to minimize this aplication instead of close it?.

    Thanks

  6. Brilliant app. One suggestion to do with average speed - any chance of having an average speed displayed that resets on a button or touch of that zone on the screen. I know there's an average speed while you're moving option but I'm thinking more simply to help with when driving along a road with "average speed" cameras. The app could start calculating on start-up however each time I pass under a camera, I touch an area of the screen - it resets but keeps calculating (whether moving or stopped in-between).

  7. I want a version (also paid version of course) without banner.
Many of us don't want to see them!
And I suggest this: max speed and race time must be saved on db, we don't want loose them.
And a G-meter would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

  9. You should have a contact button. Oh well, I will resort to this.

  10. Great app! I have had numerous other speedo apps and this by far the one I most prefer. I do have have a couple of suggestions. It would be very nice to be able to customize the main speed dial colors when they change due to speed limit settings. A pause button for the recording, that way if you stop for a few minutes you can pause the app and not affect your avg. speed or drive time. Also, the option to display/hide the battery indicator.

Great app regardless, use it every day. Thanks!

  11. The app is superb!
The only thing that is missing is an altitude indicator. That would be the cherry on top of the cake. If you could provide that it would be perfect!

    Cheers,
    Ricardo G.

  12. John, top average digit does not affected by tyme, when car is stops. So it works exactly as you want, but do everything automatically.

Ricardo, tap couple of times on right indicator - it will changed to altitude indicator.

  13. Great app! I bought an old Porsche 924S a few weeks ago and for various (kind of insane) reasons the speedometer & tachometer don't work so I hit the Android market and found this app. I almost don't want to fix them after using this for the past few weeks!
I'm sure this has nothing to do with the app but for some reason it's not accessing any satellites and hasn't been for the last few days. I'm using the HTC EVO on Sprint. If anybody has any thoughts on why or how to fix the problem, please let me know.

  16. Hi, I bought the paid version and it works great on my Android v2,1 phone, so, I removed the free version from my Froyo phone and now I cant see either the 'free' or paid version on the Market on this phone. Is there any reason for this? Can you assist? Thanks

  17. Great App ! I loved it ! Nice graphs and interface !
Would you be interested in offering (a paid version if necessary) a version which can read OBD-2 data (via bluetooth interface) and show also RPM?

As another guy here posted, I also had problems with my dashboard. So I started using your app for Speedometer, which is great. I´m just lacking now the RPM (rev meter). I found another application which can show the RPM, but your app is so nice, that if I could choose between compass and RPM for example, it would be perfect.

I´m using a 10Hz Bluetooth GPS receiver and it is very accurate.

Thanks for such great app !

    Erick

  18. @iain - looks like Market glitch. I can only recommend to restart your phone - switch it off and on.

  19. I miss a feedback/contact function on the app as someone commented before, so I'll resort to this too.

The notification bar indicator should be optional, or at least only be shown if the application is running minimized. If I keep the notification bar on because I want to keep controlled other notification indicators, having there also the speed while having below the glorious main indication is a waste of resources, and of space in the notification bar.

  20. Hi there,
    great app!
    I love it!

    A couple of suggestions:
-first of all you absolutely need to add a log of the track, and the possibility to export to .gpx file.
-then, it would be nice if i can set an edge speed limiter over 185Km/h...
I simply thought to use them as speed "goals" when testing a top speed of a car.
So, allowing it to be set up to 300Km/h would be great.

    let me know :D

    regards!

  21. Great app except for the compass. Stuck on 216 deg SW. However the compass in Ulysses Tools is fine.

  22. Are there any feature differences between the paid version and the free version? Or does the Pro version just get rid of the ads?

It looks awesome so far, haven't yet tried it out!

  24. Great app - thanks!

1 request - is there any way to move the app to an SD card or can that be added in a future release? I'm low on internal space on my phone but have a16GB card with tons of room.

    Thanks for your consideration.

  28. Great app! I am wondering if there is a possibility that we can get a persistent odometer? The day/week/month is great, but it would be great to have a running total of all distance traveled :)

  32. This Speedo app is by far the best software I have purchased for my phone. I use it every day. There are two things that I would love to see added somehow: 1. current Weather/Temp for long road trips. 2. suggested speed (wikiSPEEDia?). Thank you for all your hard work.

  35. Is there any way to have an automatic night mode? We do a lot of night driving and that is the one feature I would see completing this. I have the pro version and love it aside from night mode.

  36. Dear Sirs,

I purchased through Amazon and didn't know it was an outdated version compared to Google Play. The version I purchased does not have the speedometer overlay on open screens even though preferences said it does.

How do I get an updated version?

    ReplyDelete
  37. I've been using the free version for a while, really came in handy when my speedo stopped working for a while. I just bought the paid version. One thing I would really like would be a rate of acceleration indicator. I'm trying to drive more conservatively to save on gas, so knowing my acceleration would help.

  45. I have been using your app for more than a year now and find it very useful as I have an old truck that the speedometer is way off. I recently moved and when I opened the app it would not respond. I tried multiple times and even removed and reinstalled the app with the same result
